What happens to food waste that is produced by Massachusetts General Hospital each day? It’s used to create heat, electricity, fertilizer and more, thanks to our partnership since October 2014.
Six days a week Agri-Cycle picks up food waste at the hospital and delivers it to the Exeter facility where it is converted into a variety of energy sources.
“We are very proud about this initiative,” says Bill Banchiere, director of Environmental Services, who spearheaded the program. “It is something very different but so helpful.”
